Neuadd Goch – Proposed by RWE Renewables
9 x 3MW Turbines, 413ft (126m). Substation, anemometer mast, Access track, temporary construction compound and grid connections.
Installed Capacity - 27MW
Although not as large as others in SSAC in size the effects on landscape, proximate residents, ecology setting of historic and cultural assets are out of all proportion to this proposals energy production. Using a generous ‘load factor’ of 25% of installed its capacity, gives this windfarm an average output over the year of 6.75MW. This equates to 0.38 % of the output of the new 2GW Pembrokeshire gas fired power station. This development represents a ‘game changer’ in SSA C with respect to visibility of turbines on the Kerry Ridgeway area and from areas proximate to the Mule.
